The Wharf Rats perform on Silver Spring's Veterans Plaza, Sunday, June 26, 2011 from 3 pm to 6 pm. Free.

Please join us today, Sunday, June 26, 2011, from 3 pm to 6 pm, as we welcome "The Wharf Rats" to the Veterans Plaza stage. The performance is free!

The Wharf Rats' musical focus has a solid foundation influenced by the Grateful Dead & improvisational jamming searching within each band member's personal sound. The result is an innovative expression played for their fans and the band on each gig. Rock, blues, and psychedelic jamming is their passion.

Instrumentation:
Robert Gersten - Drums / Vocals
Lenny Dinerman - Bass / Harp / vocals
Eric "dawg" Metzman - Vocals, Lead Guitar
Eric "Huck" Huckleberry - Vocals, keyboards
"Cosmic" Carl Baer Schwartzman - Vocals, Percussion

The original Wharf Rats started three years ago in Eric's studio basement with several friends who jammed together for many years. They have expanded the Grateful Dead sound, interpreted many new directions by jamming on Dylan, Doors, blues, and originals. The band's back line of solid drumming/percussion and bass is balanced with the interplay melodies between the guitarist and keyboard player. New dimensions of sound happen at every rehearsal and gig.
