Silver Spring Town Center Performing Arts Series 2008-2009
The Silver Spring Town Center is sponsoring a series of community concerts in Silver Spring. These concerts, called "Community Conversations," feature a broad range of arts and entertainment offerings. We have sponsored concerts in the Ceviche Restaurante, the Mayorga Coffee Factory and the Round House Theatre.

Marcus Johnson
Marcus Johnson, a Silver Spring resident and graduate of Montgomery County public schools who has excelled in every aspect of his professional life, represents the best of Montgomery County. A successful businessman and an internationally recognized jazz musician, Marcus Johnson has entertained audiences throughout the United States and around the world. We proudly recognize his creativity, his passion, and his great service to our community.
Cindy McGrew
Operation Second Chance
A dynamic personality, with tireless energy and a noble vision of service, Cindy McGrew is a great champion of those who have proudly served in America’s Armed Forces and who need the help of a grateful Nation after their service. The founder of Operation Second Chance, an organization that supports U.S. soldiers and Marines, she is one of Montgomery County’s most respected citizens. We proudly recognize her service and the great example she sets for all of us.

Montgomery County proudly recognizes the service of one its greatest public servants, Jack Hewitt of Silver Spring. We salute his many pioneering contributions to our County and to the State of Maryland, and we thank him for his energy, his vision and his faith in our community. One of Montgomery County’s most respected veterans, we applaud his dedication to the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Disabled Veterans of America.
